Serie A Champions SSC Napoli Go Head-To-Head in MW III to Settle the Debate Once and for All. Who Came Out on Top; Team Di Lorenzo or Team Osimhen?

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Beta – which is available today exclusively for PlayStation players who pre-ordered – gave Serie A Champions SSC Napoli the opportunity to battle it out in teams of two led by first-team captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo and last season’s top goal scorer Victor Osimhen!

In partnership with SSC Napoli – and off the back of their third Scudetto – the reigning Serie A champions traded their football boots for the Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® III Beta. Members of the first team headed to the Konami Training Center in Castel Volturno to settle the debate once and for all; Who’s the MVP of them all?

There were two competing teams which promised adrenaline-fueled derby-like matches. One team was led by Giovanni Di Lorenzo, SSC Napoli’s captain and rumoured Call of Duty pro. The other by Victor Osimhen, last year’s leading goal scorer who has a deadeye for any target.

Di Lorenzo and Osimhen were accompanied by other first-team players including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Giovanni Simeone, Leo Ostigard, and Eljif Elmas. The two teams battled it out across three legendary core game modes (Team Death Match, Domination, and Hardpoint) in three returning fan-favourite maps rebuilt from the ground up for this year’s release (Karachi, Invasion, and Skidrow).

Did Di Lorenzo lead his team to glory once again? Is Osimhen’s trigger finger as deadly as his right foot? Was Kvaratskhelia able to assist his squad time and time again? No time to guess, you can check out the action below!

The first game was won by Team Di Lorenzo, with Kvaratskhelia putting in the work to top the leaderboard with 23 kills, claiming first blood in Team Death Match. Team Osimhen fought back in the second match; Simeone provided a clutch moment as he captured flag after flag in Domination which levelled the scores and put the final round into a winner-takes-all match! In a timely manner, Team captain Di Lorenzo led his team to victory with a spectacular triple kill, wiping out his SSC Napoli teammates to settle the debate once and for all!

In addition to claiming bragging rights, Di Lorenzo was also crowned MVP. Upon receiving his trophy, Di Lorenzo told us: “Wow, thank you. It’s not only a pleasure to be able to play this year’s Call of Duty early – and win of course – but to also be crowned the MVP.

The classic maps felt great to play again and that triple kill was something else! I am extremely excited for the launch of the new game later this year”, Di Lorenzo continued.

Despite a fiercely competitive tournament, the SSC Napoli squad often play Call of Duty together as a way of relaxing after training and for all-important team building, providing a new way to build team rapport and communication.
